Eligibility can also occur via reaching 630 hours, immediate eligibility for certain late-year hires expected to meet next-year thresholds, and a two-year lookback presumption.<br /><br />Employees have 31 days to enroll or are defaulted into employee-only coverage. Dependents (spouse, children to 26, disabled children, state-registered domestic partners) require verification. Coverage usually starts the first of the month after eligibility, with an early-September exception; it ends at month-end of termination or when hours drop below eligibility.<br /><br />The training reviews plan availability by county, premium surcharges (tobacco $25; spouse/domestic partner $50), UMP High Deductible with HSA, dental/vision fully employer-paid, basic life/AD&D and LTD, optional FSA/DCAP and SmartHealth incentives, special open enrollment events, COBRA handled by SEBB, and permissible non-conflicting optional payroll deductions (e.g., 403(b)/457).
