Pdf Summary
This course teaches the fundamentals and practical use of Microsoft OneNote 2016 for capturing, organizing, finding, and sharing digital notes. It begins with core navigation skills, including understanding the OneNote screen, customizing the Quick Access Toolbar, switching ribbon and notebook views, searching notes, printing, and using Help.

Participants then learn notebook management basics: opening and creating notebooks; closing, exiting, and deleting notebooks; and organizing content with sections, section groups, pages, and subpages (adding, moving, and deleting each). The course also covers notebook properties, using the Recycle Bin to restore deleted items, and notebook backup.

The next module focuses on adding content in multiple formats: typing notes, handwriting and editing ink (erasing, inserting space, converting writing to text), writing equations, tagging notes (including custom tags and tag search), and using Quick Notes. Learners also capture information with screen clippings, create and edit links (within OneNote and to external locations), insert images and set background images, add video, record content, and create and modify tables.

Formatting topics include text formatting (font, size, color, bold/italic/underline, format painter), page backgrounds (color, rule/graph lines), styles, numbered and bulleted lists, time/date/name stamps, page size and margins, and spell check.

Templates are covered through using existing templates, creating custom templates, and setting a default template.

Integration with other Office apps includes sending notes to Word, sending content to OneNote, attaching files and file printouts, embedding and editing spreadsheets, converting tables to spreadsheets, adding and updating Outlook meeting details, emailing notes, and creating/managing Outlook tasks.

Finally, the course addresses sharing and collaboration: exporting pages/sections/notebooks, creating shared notebooks, inviting people or sharing links, syncing changes, reviewing edits by author or recent activity, stopping sharing, password-protecting sections, and working with versions.
